Encanto - Short Film
I filmed “Encanto” in Downtown Phoenix at the Encanto City Park in the spring of 2021. I shot this film on the GH5s in conjunction with the GHAlex S Lut. This charming social commentary is a birds eye view on the citizens of Phoenix and their romantic return to a less distanced social leisure after a long series of home isolation after the height of the pandemic. On this day, the beautiful park and the lovely nature housed there accompanied the return to a more normal life in the community and sparked a nostalgic feeling of love and wonder. This film was highly mentioned, officially selected and screened in the 2021 Huntington Beach Cultural Cinema Showcase.
Limelight - Short Film
Limelight is the first film I had the opportunity to have the director of photography role on. I shot this film on the Blackmagic Ursa with all UAT student based crew members. The film follows the inner mind of a struggling performance artist who reflects back to conversations of an old friend for inspiration in his stage performances. We produced this film in just 48 hours as part of the 2016 IFP 48 hour film challenge. The film gained several awards and accolades throughout it’s journey in the film festival circuit.
